GladAfrica was contracted to oversee the implementation of the Public Transport Infrastructure System Grant in Buffalo City, Eastern Cape on behalf of the National Department of Transport. The Buffalo City Municipality’s public transport plan includes a Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system that links various parts of the city and is integrated with other forms of transport. Currently 82% of passenger trips are made by minibus-taxis and 9% using standard buses and trains respectively.
