  • Purpose:
Sunday’s River Valley Local Municipality requires normal civil engineering services and additional studies for the upgrading of the Paterson wastewater treatment works (PWWTW), following an assessment which investigated different treatment processes and upgrading alternatives. A municipal infrastructure grant (MIG) technical report and business plan, which motivated the upgrading of the PWWTW and an extension of the current oxidation ponds system, was prepared and approved.
  • Scope:
Upgrading of the PWWTW to a future capacity of 1,030 cubic metres per day required the undertaking of a scoping environmental impact assessment (EIA) process, and assisted with the waste management licence and water-use licence applications.
