    New Biomedical Research Facility building including upgrading existing FISAN building and associated infrastructure upgrades.

  • Scope

    The BMRF project involves upgrading / re-planning of the existing Fisan Building, building an adjacent new research facility and atrium to link the refurbished and new buildings, and ultimately form one new building end product. The facilities will house all existing Biomedical Sciences departments as well as all research laboratories, semi-private and private research units and companies to support the academic building on Tygerberg Campus. The refurbished existing Fisan Building with some additions will be approximately 17 367 m2 consisting of 5 levels above ground and a basement. The new proposed adjacent building which is connected to the existing Fisan building will be approximately 13 938 m2 consisting of 4 levels above ground and a basement.

    Development of academic and supporting infrastructure, student residential accommodation, site infrastructure and bulk infrastructure. This includes: 6 Blocks of Student Residential Accommodation, New Academic Offices, New Library, New Teaching Auditorium, New ICT Laboratories and Security Centre, further Student Residences, Health & Wellness and Sports Centre, Site Infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, electrical), Bulk Infrastructure (roads, water, sewer, electrical).

  • Scope

    The university is being developed over various phases from 2014 to 2024, and consists of three primary campuses, with a satellite campus. The scope includes planning, design and construction of a multi-phased, multi-campus new university located in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga to create the new University of Mpumalanga.

    The purpose of the project is to construct a new corporate head office for Exxaro Limited.

  • Scope

    Construction of a P-grade office building totaling 18000 square meters with four levels of parking (approx 270 bays), a subdividable auditorium, full canteen and kitchen. The building is to employ the latest state of the art building management systems and access control/security systems. The building is 6 Greenstar-rated and is the first in Africa to be awarded a WELL rating. Extensive use of sustainable technologies are employed on the project. Examples are: Solar power, rainwater harvesting, grey water harvesting, xeriscaping. The five-level atrium is topped by an ETFE skylight. The building is located on a class 8 dolomite site and this requires innovative founding techniques and early warning systems (extensometers).
