    Phase II includes several work packages, with bulk power supply and telecommunications, roads, bridges, two diversion tunnels from the main Polihali Dam, the project housing and associated infrastructure, the North East Access Road, the Polihali Western Access Roads and the Northern Access Road. Construction of the Polihali Dam and related infrastructure will guarantee the desired level of water availability in Gauteng and the Vaal River water supply region in the most cost-effective manner. The project provides for the transfer of 780,000 million litres of water as well as electricity supply to towns and villages in Lesotho (through the Lesotho Electricity Company).
